The term Gold Star Family is a modern reference that comes from the Service Flag. These flags/banners were first flown by families during World War I. The flag included a blue star for every immediate family member serving in the armed forces of the United States, during any period of war or hostilities in which the armed forces of the United States were engaged. If that loved one died, the blue star was replaced by a gold star. This allowed members of the community to know the price the family had paid in the cause of freedom.
Gold Star Family Inn now in our 3rd year in Branson, MO!
Who hasn't thought, "What can I do to honor these special families? How can we reach out to family members who have lost a loved one who has fallen in the services of our country?"
The Gold Star Family Inn is located in beautiful Branson, Missouri. We will be blessing a Gold Star Family and families of fallen police officers with a week in Branson: lodging with all the amenities, plus tickets to the hottest shows in town, all to honor our hero's last wish - to take care of his or her family.
Since our inception, we have hosted 53 Gold Star Families of our Fallen Heroes.
Here's a golden shout-out from Kevin Sorbo!
